Our Life Together In Worship
OUR LIFE TOGETHER IN WORSHIP
May
2, Fifth Sunday of Easter. Come
and join your voices in praise of our Risen Lord as we celebrate
Moravian Music Sunday with a Lovefeast. May God be glorified in our
worship and music today!
May
9, Sixth Sunday of Easter. Our
worship today will include a special time of prayer and thanksgiving
for Mother's
Day.
We will receive our Joyful Noise offering for Adopt-A-Village in
Tanzania, and the Children's Mission Project – the sale of Moravian
sugarcake will raise funds to pay for postage for Operation Christmas
Child.
May
16, Ascension Sunday and the Seventh Sunday of Easter. Today
we celebrate Christ's ascension into heaven after his resurrection
and numerous resurrection appearances to the disciples. Through a
pulpit exchange, we will welcome The Rev. Darrell Johnson, pastor of
the Gnaden Moravian Church, who will bring the day's sermon. Pastor
Sue Koenig will be preaching at Gnaden and sharing the story of her
trip to India in October 2009.
May
23, The Day of Pentecost. This
day we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit – the Advocate Jesus
promised to send to be with us forever, and the birth of the Church.
Our worship will include a Service of Holy Communion for Pentecost.
Our Choir and Children's Choir will conclude their seasons.
May
30, Trinity Sunday. With
the greater church, we recognize this Sunday as one set aside to lift
up the ways in which God comes to us: as loving heavenly Father, as
Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, as the Holy Spirit, our guide and
comforter. We will recognize those who have served our country in the
various branches of the military with our liturgy for National
Occasions. We will receive a second mile offering for Harbor House.
Birthday Sunday follows our worship.
June
6, Second Sunday After Pentecost. Come
enjoy a day at camp! Our worship will lift up our camping programs on
this Prayer Day for Outdoor Ministries. Former campers will lead the
service. We will recognize this year's graduates: Kyle Springer and
Tammy Stafford.
